On behalf of East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership I would like to thank you for your interest in the role of Chief Nurse and Head of Quality.

Chief Nurse and Head of Quality Role
Based at one of NHS Lothian’s flagship facilities, East Lothian Community Hospital, Haddington, this post offers a unique opportunity to generate positive change with a lasting impact on the development, integration, quality and delivery of nursing services in East Lothian.
You will have professional accountability for clinical service delivery, as well as managerial and operational leads across acute, primary, secondary and care home settings. In addition you will be appointed as the nurse advisor to the East Lothian Integration Joint Board.
The vacancy comes at a very opportune moment as East Lothian leads the way in delivering high quality health, nursing and social care to its county’s residents by:
- its ability to develop quality assurance frameworks,
- achieving consistent positive care inspectorate reports,
- identifying opportunities to enhance the delivery of intermediate care services,
- providing opportunities for staff training and development,
- establishing strong relationships across the Partnership to deliver integrated care systems; for example, the collaboration with older people’s services; adopting a person-centred approach to care needs assessment and delivery; establishing a unique ELHSCP led provision of Primary Care services; our commitment to achieving LACAS standards; our development in palliative care services and the extend reach of our mental health teams and substance use teams to support individuals across the county in community and primary care settings.
You’ll have the opportunity to support and feedback to the wider Lothian and national teams, affirming East Lothian’s credibility and drive to achieve excellence.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
