NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. The shift pattern for this position is 5 days per week, 9am to 5pm, with occasional evening / weekend work as required.
Post 1 - We are seeking a motivated and committed individual to join Glasgow City’s South Health Improvement Team as a Health Improvement Senior. The initial focus of this role will be to cover addictions programmes (Smoking Cessation, Drugs and Alcohol). The post holder will have key responsibility for the development and implementation of a wider addiction portfolio, with an overall aim of improving health and reducing health inequalities in line with HSCP plans and other locally and nationally identified priorities. The post holder will work within the HSCP with key partners and will be responsible for overseeing the management and delivery of the South Quit Your Way Smoking Cessation Service, in line with Scottish Government LDP targets. These areas of focus may change over time.
Candidates should meet the range of public health skills/competencies outlined in the job description. Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to improving health and reducing inequalities. Educated to degree level, preferably with a relevant post graduate qualification (desirable), the post holder will have health improvement/public health experience, partnership working, project planning and project management experience. Supervisory experience is desirable. The post holder is expected to fulfil the Standards for Public Health Practice (Health Improvement) at Foundation-Core level.
This post is full time, permanent, core hours are Monday-Friday, 9-5. Some occasional evening and weekend working may be required to meet the needs of the service. The post holder will have key responsibility for the delivery of tobacco programmes, with an overall aim of improving health and reducing health inequalities in line with HSCP plans and other locally and nationally identified priorities. The post holder will work within the HSCP with key partners and will be responsible for overseeing the management and delivery of the NE Quit Your Way Smoking Cessation Service, in line with Scottish Government LDP targets.
