Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
The Workforce Directorate works at a national level to support the delivery of NES’s strategic plan and is a key partner to the delivery of Scottish Government priorities for the health and social care workforce. It also provides a comprehensive People and Organisational Development strategy and service for the people who work for NES and externally.
The Digitally Enabled Workforce (DEW) Team is a newly established unit within the Workforce Directorate. It has been commissioned by the Scottish Government for the delivery of a programme of work aligned to Scotland’s Digital Health and Care Strategy, Data Strategy, and Care in the Digital Age Delivery Plan.
The Opportunity
The Digitally Enabled Workforce (DEW) team is based in various locations across Scotland and work remotely. We are a dynamic, fast paced team who enjoy what they do, are focused, agile, adapt quickly, self-organise and thrive on making a difference and delivering results.
In this exciting and varied role of Programme Coordinator, you will collaborate across multiple workstreams and organisations and have a direct impact on the DEW team achieving and delivering their programme priorities within budget and timescales agreed.

What We Love to See
Programme Coordinators offer a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:
- Experienced in a project/programme support role, or equivalent, including creating project plans and coordinating completion of tasks
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and confidently at all levels
- Ability to work on own initiative, to effectively organise and prioritise own workloads and that of others, and to meet strict deadlines
- Experience of creating reports and project documents related to progress, risks, issues, and governance
- Highly effective communicator knowing how to make complex information and language simple for diverse senior internal and external stakeholders (both verbally and in writing)
- Line management and coaching/mentoring experience
