This is a Fixed term post for 1 year
(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.
We are seeking a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join a busy Primary Care Mental Health Team to provide high intensity psychological therapies to the North East Glasgow population. The post will cover Maternity Leave for one year. During this time, you will undertake assessments on behalf of the team, specialist psychological assessments, and hold a caseload of patients, devising and planning treatments and care plans. You will deliver 1:1 treatment and group treatment using a hybrid model of Attend Anywhere and face to face appointments. You will contribute to the supervision of psychological therapies staff within the team, and contribute to formulation and care planning for clinical assessments carried out by team members.
You will lead and support the team in working towards meeting the LDP waiting time standards for Psychological therapies and be influential in expediting access to therapy. There are 2 additional psychologists within the team, CBT therapists and Mental Health Practitioners .
You should be trained to Post-graduate, doctoral level in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or HCPC, including specific models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology
It is a requirement of these posts to provide clinical placements and supervision to Trainee Clinical Psychologists undertaking a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and other trainee therapists. To enable the post-holder to do so they must be eligible for the relevant training which meets University accreditation criteria.
Registration with the HCPC as a Clinical or Counselling psychologist is essential.
Full membership of the Division of Clinical Psychology, the Division of Counselling Psychology or the Association of Clinical Psychologists is desirable.
As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of professional registration will be required prior to start date. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
