The opportunity


If you are a Nurse, AHP or Pharmacist with an interest in working in Advanced Practice within a busy Acute setting, then this might be the opportunity for you!

Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.  

Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme where whilst undergoing training they will be paid 75% of the top of Band 7 (£40,342) and on completion of training will then move on to Band 7 scale.


The role


The Advanced Practitioner provides assessment, clinical care and management of both stable and acutely unwell patient, making complex, autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge, while having overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of advanced care.

Medical telehealth/telephone support will be available when required from an identified source.

You will be educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level with a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced clinical practice and expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. 

Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.

You must be Registered Nurse / AHP / Pharmacist with valid NMC / HCPC / GPHC Registration.
