Job Advert
(It is anticipated post holder(s) will primarily work from home)
This post is Band 4 - subject to job profile matching.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Assistant Practitioners to join the new National Diabetes CLS Onboarding Team as part of the Centre for Sustainable Delivery (CfSD) at NHS Golden Jubilee.
Are you passionate about making a difference in patients' lives? Are you eager to contribute to their training and support, enabling them to embrace innovative technologies and enhance their quality of life? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
The national Closed Loop System (CLS) onboarding programme is aimed at improving the accessibility of CLS devices across Scotland. A CLS device involves an insulin pump automating insulin delivery based on real-time continuous glucose monitor (CGM) measurements.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Practitioner to join our new dynamic team in delivering this programme. As an Assistant Practitioner Educator, you will play a crucial role in educating, training, and supporting individuals with Type 1 diabetes to safely and effectively utilise a Diabetes CLS.
What makes this opportunity even more exciting is that previous experience in facilitating, training, and assisting people to be onboarded to Diabetes CLS is not essential. We believe in providing a unique opportunity for you to gain these valuable skills and experience while making a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients.
Most training and education sessions are anticipated to be delivered remotely/virtually, and participant support and follow-up will primarily be conducted through remote means or by phone and NHS Near Me. However, there may be instances where in-person participant training is delivered in specific localities as part of the programme.
We offer a supportive and dynamic work environment where your skills will have a significant impact on improving access to diabetes CLS throughout Scotland. This role provides a unique opportunity for individuals residing anywhere in Scotland to contribute to this national initiative. Hot desk office accommodation is available at the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital; however, we anticipate that the post holder(s) will primarily work from home. Some travel for in-person meetings and participant training will be required by the post holder(s). Consideration to the post holder(s) location and a team approach will be taken when planning activity requiring the need for travel. This is a 1-year post offering flexibility in terms of working hours and schedule.
This is a rare opportunity to engage in a high-profile area of work that requires dedicated, compassionate, and value-driven individuals who will work as part of a team to confidently assist with this national Diabetes CLS onboarding programme that will deliver measurable improvements in the health and wellbeing of people with Type 1 diabetes across all of Scotland. You will work as part of an exciting new team and will have the opportunity to develop your skills.
