The NHS Fife Specialist Palliative Care (SPC) service is looking for highly motivated, experienced Staff Nurses to work within the SPC service. This is an exciting time for Specialist palliative care. You will be part of a forward thinking service delivering and supporting holistic care to the people of Fife with advanced life limiting illness. To support with maternity leave you will initially work within the Outreach Team with an expectation of rotating across the service including the hospice setting depending on the needs of the service.
Our Single Point of Access to the service, offers immediate specialist palliative advice for all. Our referrals are triaged by the clinical team on a daily basis and it is expected after induction you will be an active participant in clinical decision making on a daily basis. You will help the team and participate in the daily board round/huddle as well as a weekly MDT. You will deliver direct clinical services to patients and be a source of professional support to colleagues within the Health & Social Care Partnership, inpatient services and assist with integration in the wider service delivery of palliative care. You will work within the 4 pillars of practice to deliver clinical care, facilitate learning, leadership and quality improvement skills. You will refer to other care pathways, support discharges from inpatient to community setting and liaise with colleagues when admissions to a variety of settings are required. You will be involved in quality improvement projects helping to drive evidence based quality care. You will work as part of a multi disciplinary team and we encourage further development both on an individual and at a service level.
