Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians Band 4 Annex 21
24 month fixed term contract for external applicants

Salary per annum pro rata: Year 1 £21,013 (Living Wage uplift £21,314) and
Year 2 £22,514
Are you interested in a professional healthcare career as a Pharmacy Technician? Would you like to study, train and work as a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician within our community pharmacies, hospitals and locality services as part of the Pharmacy Team?
The SQA Diploma in Pharmacy Services is completed over 2 years and includes:
- Professional Development Award in Pharmacy Services at SCQF level 7 and
- SVQ in Pharmacy Services at SCQF level 8
Your role will be varied, learning and working with our pharmacy teams in primary and secondary care including hospitals, community pharmacies, GP practices, care homes and patients’ own homes to provide a high quality and professional, patient-focused service. One day per week protected study time and support in the workplace will be provided. Trainees are expected to contribute at least an additional 4 hours per week to studying in their own time. On successful completion you will be eligible to apply for pharmacy technician registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council and apply for Pharmacy Technician posts. The current NHS starting salary for a registered pharmacy technician is £27,598 with excellent career development opportunities.

Hours of work are: 37.5 hours per week contributing to weekend working and public holiday rotas
