An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Physiotherapy Team at the Institute of Neurological Sciences (INS). This is the Regional Neuroscience unit Regional unit providing neurological and neurosurgical care for the West of Scotland and is based within QEUH site. This Band 6 post holder will deliver specialist in patient physiotherapy to the Neurological, Neurosurgical and Critical Care wards as required. The main role of this post is to provide assessment, early rehabilitation and facilitate safe and appropriate discharge of these complex patient groups. Some of these patients will have tracheostomies. In addition they will have responsibility for the clinical supervision, training and development of rotational physiotherapy staff, support workers and students. You should be an experienced physiotherapist with confidence managing a highly complex caseload of neurological patients and the ability to prioritise in a busy unit. You should also have experience and confidence supporting and educating others. You should have an interest in service development and together with physiotherapy colleagues you will further develop the service to deliver high quality evidenced based care. You will require excellent communication and leadership skills along with a proactive and dynamic attitude. Team working is essential. It is essential you have a Diploma / Degree in physiotherapy with current HCPC registration and evidence of relevant post graduate courses/ CPD. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland check.
