The post of Junior Clinical Fellow is now well-established in Fife. JCFs support the provision of high-quality clinical haematology to the adult population of Fife, working as part of the existing Haematology team. These posts are ideally suited to post foundation doctors who wish to gain further experience in Haematology to possibly pursue this as a future career path but would also suit those wishing to apply to medical training posts in the future.

Each post is advertised for a fixed term of 12 months. We are flexible for those wishing to work less than full time who require a particular work pattern.

During this 12 month period, you will work along with the existing ward team to provide comprehensive care to patients with haematological malignancies both in the elective and emergency settings. Opportunity and time for delivering teaching and quality improvement is provided.

The post will be based within the Haematology Ward (Ward 34) within Victoria Hospital. with opportunity to spend time in the day unit setting in our adjacent chemotherapy unit and also South Laboratory VHK.

Successful applicants will be encouraged to take part in departmental audit, quality improvement, journal club and help deliver teaching sessions to junior colleagues, medical students and nursing staff with consultant support. You will be expected to maintain an e-portfolio and undertake an annual appraisal. Each clinical development fellow will be allocated a consultant educational supervisor to support their clinical and professional development.
