An exciting opportunity has arisen for an AfC Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner to be part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s new Flow Navigation Centre operational since the 1st of December 2020.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Flow Navigation Centre aims to direct those whose care requirements are not an emergency to clinical consultations through virtual Near Me consultations. Located at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, the Flow Navigation Centre is led by a multi-disciplinary team of Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Medical and Administrative staff who utilise virtual technology wherever possible to undertake an initial digital consultation and avoid unnecessary face-to-face appointments. The scheduling of urgent care (non-life threatening presentations) is planned with the right clinician, optimising alternatives to Emergency Departments where feasible and at times that support the management of surge activity periods and avoid crowding to maintain a safe environment. The Flow Navigation Centre is currently operational 10 am to 10pm 7 days with a mix of shifts and will evolve to a 24 hour requirement. We are now seeking to appoint an Advanced (Emergency) Nurse Practitioner to join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Flow Navigation Centre existing team where you will work alongside the MDT team to deliver Urgent Care to the people of Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work to high clinical standards in a fast paced environment. You are required to be flexible, forward thinking and able to work effectively within a changing and dynamic digital environment. Excellent communication and decision making skills with evidence of ongoing professional development are essential requirements. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with evidence of continuing professional development providing high quality, safe patient centred and effective clinical assessment service delivering high standards of acute emergency care needs. Hours will be worked to meet the needs of the service which will include a range of shift patterns over 7 days including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays. The ability to work as part of a MDT is essential as is working within the NMC code at all times If you want to be part of the transformation of the way Urgent Care is delivered in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde then we welcome your application.
