Please note this is a fixed term post for 16 weeks. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Intern to join our team over the summer for 12 weeks working Monday to Friday at NHSL Headquarters, Kirklands.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive Administrative and Clerical support to the sustainability and environmental performance team. You will be working towards/completed a relevant first degree (or equivalent) in environmental management science or sustainability and should have student membership of a relevant professional body (CIWEM, IEMA). You will be self-motivated, organised, and thorough and be able to demonstrate application of initiative to deliver a task or project to high standards.
Insight, knowledge, understanding and awareness of environmental management, waste management and related issues is essential and should have general work experience that shows an ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with a diverse range of stakeholders. The post requires a high degree of organisational ability and interpersonal skills as well as good written and oral communication skills, i.e., dealing with enquiries in a professional and courteous way.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high degree of assertiveness, resourcefulness, and initiative as well as experience using Microsoft office systems and similar applications. You should have a flexible attitude to work in general.
