Applications are invited for a Specialty Doctor in Community Paediatrics. The job involves the full range of activities of a Community Paediatrician from a base in Helensburgh with outreach to Mid-Argyll and the islands of Bute and Islay, plus the role of Medical Advisor to the Adoption Panel for Argyll and Bute. There is a particular clinical focus on neurodevelopmental assessment including ASD / ADHD. You will be part of a small team of Community Paediatricians and ADHD/Neurodevelopmental Nurse Specialists. There are working relationships with CAMHS, AHPs, Health Visitors, School Nurses, CCNs and multiagency colleagues including Educational Psychology.
Work will involve assessment, investigation, diagnosis and management of children aged 0-18 with additional needs, including ADHD and ASD; general neurodevelopment and disability work; Health Assessment of Care Experienced Children, and Comprehensive Health Assessment of vulnerable children and young people experiencing neglect. The role also includes the remit as Medical Advisor to the Argyll & Bute Adoption Panel.
Applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council and have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
