Infection Prevention & Control Nurse (IPCN) - Band 6
Foresterhill Campus Hours: Full time (37.5hrs)
Location: Primarily Foresterhill Campus site, with requirement to travel to other areas within NHS Grampian.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join the Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Team. Applications are invited from Registered Nurses with an interest in IPC and who wish to develop in this field.
Previous IPC experience/ knowledge advantageous. The successful candidate will work closely with Senior IPCNs and be supported to complete the NHS Education Scotland IPCN Career & Development Framework. The candidate must demonstrate an enthusiasm for learning and be able to work well within the multi-disciplinary team.
The IPC Service is delivered and supported by an experienced team who facilitate the prevention, surveillance, investigation and control of infection across NHS Grampian to support the provision of safe, effective, person-centred care. The service includes IPC Nurses, Surveillance Nurses, Administration staff, IPC Doctors and Biomedical Scientists. The IPC Team also work with Health Protection Scotland, Public Health , Health Improvement Scotland, IPC specialists forums and Scottish Government which allows experience of working with external organisations and the learning opportunities available from this.
The candidate must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a high pressure environment, have excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to ever changing scenarios such as occurs in outbreak management. The successful applicant will be based in Aberdeen but will assist with providing cover to other NHS Grampian sites, both virtually and in person.
