This is a role for a committed and self-motivated person with opportunities for varied and challenging work within the Mechanical Engineering Section of the Medical Devices Unit (MDU), a multi-disciplinary clinical engineering team.
The post holder will be a member of a team providing a design, development, manufacturing and test service for novel medical devices; and a maintenance, repair and instrument calibration service for a wide range of healthcare equipment with a mechanical function. The post holder should have been introduced to a number of the specialist disciplines required by the section, and must be actively working towards compliance in one or more of these disciplines, to provide the in-depth wide ranging service required by the variety of complex equipment, and client requests.
Entry requirements: An BSc/BEng in a relevant Science / Technology subject or a HND/HNC, or equivalent qualifications, with a profile of knowledge and training equivalent to BSc/BEng level. You will have relevant post qualification experience which will include operating under a certified Quality Management System, documenting specifications and compiling test reports.
You will normally work 37.50 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The role is based in the Medical Devices Unit, West Glasgow ACH, but will require regular travel to acute and community sites across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
