The Role

With a reputation for excellence, innovation and collaboration we are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Pharmacist to lead and shape primary care pharmacy services across NHS Lanarkshire and its two Health & Social Care Partnerships.
As the Chief Pharmacist for primary care you will play a pivotal role in advancing pharmaceutical care across primary care settings. You will work closely with health and social care professionals, stakeholders and teams to ensure safe. Effective and efficient use of medicines and pharmacy resources.
Key responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership for the development, implementation and evaluation of primary care pharmacy services.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement innovative programs that improve patient care and promote evidenced based practice.
Drive continuous improvement in medicine safety, prescribing practices and the effective use of medicines.
Foster a culture of learning and development among pharmacy teams, encouraging ongoing professional growth and training.

What we'll need you to bring
Masters of Pharmacy Degree
Registered pharmacist with General Pharmaceutical Council
Post graduate degree at masters level, or equivalent, in a recognised area of pharmacy practice or management, or equivalent relevant experience at a senior level.
Significant senior management experience within a recognised area of pharmacy practice. This to include management of staff, resources and budgets with accountability for service delivery etc.
High level of expertise and skills across the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership, education and research as described within the Advanced Pharmacy Framework (APF)
Leadership skills and ability to influence at all levels using self-management ability and analytical, prioritisation and judgement skills in order to influence pharmacy educational services.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to address highly difficult and complex issues This may involve persuasive, motivational, negotiating and training skills in order to provide, receive and present potentially complex, contentious issues in relation to practice developments.
