Job Advert

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a temporary post of 2 years (possibility of permanent depending on funding)

The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 7.5hrs/day.

This post is a new and positive development for the Alcohol Drug Recovery Service within East Dunbartonshire. It is an opportunity to develop and lead on the inclusion of occupational therapy within this multi-disciplinary community team. The postholder will be responsible for delivering skilled occupational therapy interventions to individuals with substance misuse and mental health difficulties.

The postholder will carry out specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions with patients to aid recovery, maximise their functioning and safety within the community. There is an expectation that standardised assessment and tools will be considered during patient intervention to demonstrate the effectiveness of occupational therapy intervention. Effective communication skills are required to provide specialist professional advice to the MDT, other disciplines, carer’s and agencies.

The occupational therapy team links with the wider mental health occupational therapy service governance structure to support professional and service developments within East Dunbartonshire HSCP, and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. There is an expectation that you will provide student placements.

It is essential you have a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy with current HCPC registration. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check. Please read and save the candidate pack before submitting an application. Pre-employment checks will take place, as per Greater Glasgow and Clyde policy. A driving license is desirable.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
