As a Team Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Blood Borne Virus
(BBV)Service , you will be a responsible for the assigned specialty, clinically, professionally and managerially, which may cross traditional,
Professional & service boundaries.
Within this senior role it is essential you hold a NMC General Adult Registration Certificate and have acquired specialised HIV/HCV knowledge with significant experience working as a Clinical nurse specialist within a relative service.
You will have the knowledge and skill set to competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient/ client group and preferably hold a non medical prescribing (NMP) certificate
Be able to work autonomously within the nursing, medical and multi-professional team, consult in nurse led clinics as appropriate and manage a team of nurse specialists/ HSCW to ensure the highest standard of care is maintained.
You will liaise and establish links with various Community & Homeless addiction teams, play an active role in improving the engagement of various client You will play an active role in improving the engagement of various client groups whilst providing advice and support to clients and their care workers out with hospital and primary care settings. You will be expected to support vulnerable patients/clients through diagnosis and treatment whilst increasing awareness and understanding of HIV/ HCV amongst service users and providers. You must have the ability to work autonomously and possess a high level of interpersonal and confident communication skills to manage & support this client group including, engagement with various addiction teams, hospital clinicians and general practitioners to maintain excellent clinical links between the services, whilst upholding confidentiality at all times
You will support research & audit to deliver specialist care within various setting/ outreach /hospitals in GG&C as the service requires whilst contributing towards shaping future service improvements as the team lead
From a management perspective, you will possess substantial senior clinical experience with a high level of interpersonal, managerial & leadership skills creating a supportive ethos to ensure appropriate learning opportunities are met for staff / team development including consistent completion of Statutory mandatory training, TURAS/PDP’s
You will be experienced in staff rota regulation, financial budget control, and participate in all HR aspects to include formal attendance reviews /management and ensure the team works within regulated NMC policies.
You will be expected to contribute professionally and possess a high level of ITC skills including forms, Trak care and portal. You will be based within the South Sector on a full time permanent basis and shift pattern is variable, mainly Monday - Friday as the service requirements dictate. It is essential that you are currently a NMC Registered Adult Nurse. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
