Fixed Term / Secondment for 1 year
Our Natural Health Service, led by Scottish Natural Heritage, is a national cross-sector initiative aiming to maximise the contribution the natural environment can make to health improvement outcomes. The post holder will coordinate the establishment of a Green Health Partnership in Highland which will bring together health services, third sector, Further and Higher education and other sectors with the environment agenda at a local level to use the natural environment to improve health outcomes around healthy weight, physical activity and wellbeing. The post holder will work with a range of partners to support the promotion of existing activities, upscale what works , and identify barriers and create solutions that are co-produced with communities. This will create greater connectivity between health/social care priorities and the provision of nature-based solutions in order to readjust how people see health care, and demonstrate and disseminate good practice.
You will have a firm understanding of the principles and practice of Public Health/Health Improvement, including communicating messages about health, and also have a strong awareness of the effects inequalities have on health. You will possess a degree or equivalent and/or post graduate qualification in education, health, social work, community development or another related or relevant discipline.
