Full Time – 37.5 hours per week plus on-call
Band 7 Salary Range £46,244 - £53,789 per annum (pro rata) plus
Distant Islands Allowance of £2,256 per annum
A Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 is available
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced and qualified Biomedical Scientist to join our multi-disciplinary Laboratory team at the most northerly hospital in the UK as section lead for the Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science.
You will be able to bring a dynamic and enthusiastic approach to the role, and will have proven knowledge and skills in Haematology & Blood Transfusion Science. You will be State Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have experience of working in an NHS pathology laboratory (or equivalent) and have relevant post graduate qualifications and meet UKTLC requirements.
The department is approved by the IBMS for training for state registration and for specialist portfolios and will be implementing a new LIMS in 2023. The successful candidate would be expected to undertake the lead in additional roles as departmental Training Officer after appropriate training if required. Once trained you will be required to participate in the multi-disciplinary on-call roster.
