We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Health Protection Consultant to join our new Regional Health Protection Service in the East of Scotland as a lead consultant for the service covering the NHS board areas of the Borders, Lothian, Forth Valley and Fife.
The Lead Consultant will form part of a small leadership team alongside a lead nurse and service manager and a Director of Public Health to manage the process of change from four individual health protection teams to one effective regional service.
Working collaboratively we will achieve our shared vision, “To ensure an effective, equitable and resilient service to protect people in the East of Scotland from infectious and environmental hazards”.
This is an exciting role which is part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The post is offered with a consultant salary and additional allowance for clinical leadership. It is a full time post but a 0.8 WTE will also be considered. The post is also available as a secondment.
Candidates must be included in the GMC Full and Specialist Register with a license to practice / GDC Specialist List (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview) OR be included in the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview).
GMC Registered Consultant payscale: £91,474 - £121,548 (pro rata if applicable)
AfC 8D - £94,345 - £98,348 (pro rata if applicable)
