Healthcare Support Worker Vaccinator
Band 3 - £25,468 to £27,486 per annum (pro rata for part time)
Fixed term until 15 December 2023
Shifts Monday - Sunday 8am - 8pm
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) role and be part of the team that is safely and effectively delivering Covid-19 and influenza vaccinations within NHS Lanarkshire. You will be responsible for preparing and administering the vaccine in a number of settings. Clinics will operate from 8am to 8pm, seven days per week.
In particular, you will be responsible for:
- Setting up of the vaccination station
- Reconstituting the vaccine (vaccine dependent)
- Preparing single doses of the vaccine for administration (vaccine dependent)
- Administering the vaccine
- Adhering to infection control practices, including PPE use
- Disposing of clinical waste as per local and national protocols and guidelines
- Adhering to data protection and information governance standards
- Demonstrating care and compassion to patients, carers and relatives to help ensure high quality person centred patient care is delivered at all times
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car essential
