Healthcare Support Worker Vaccinator

Band 3 - £25,468 to £27,486 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Fixed term until 15 December 2023

Shifts Monday - Sunday 8am - 8pm​​​​​​​

​​​​​​​This is an exciting opportunity to take on a Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) role and be part of the team that is safely and effectively delivering Covid-19 and influenza vaccinations within NHS Lanarkshire. You will be responsible for preparing and administering the vaccine in a number of settings.  Clinics will operate from 8am to 8pm, seven days per week. 

In particular, you will be responsible for:

  • Setting up of the vaccination station
  • Reconstituting the vaccine (vaccine dependent)
  • Preparing single doses of the vaccine for administration (vaccine dependent)
  • Administering the vaccine
  • Adhering to infection control practices, including PPE use
  • Disposing of clinical waste as per local and national protocols and guidelines
  • Adhering to data protection and information governance standards
  • Demonstrating care and compassion to patients, carers and relatives to help ensure high quality person centred patient care is delivered at all times​​​​​​​
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car essential ​​​​​​​
