Looking for a new challenge in Tayside?
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven pharmacist to join the pharmacy team in Tayside, an area of stunning scenery, from beaches to mountains, and with lively night life, restaurants and cultural activities on the door step. Its central location and excellent transport links provide easy access to the surrounding area and the likes of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
What is the role?
The Lead Pharmacist will play a vital role in leading Medicines Supply Chain departments within Acute Services, NHS Tayside. Medication Supply Chain comprises Procurement, Distribution, Vaccines, Homecare, Clinical Trials and Dispensing Services. The role will also be required to support the Accountable Aseptic Pharmacist on an as needed basis. Your primary base will be Ninewells Hospital.
The post holder assumes lead accountability for strategic and operational arrangements ensuring systems are in place and monitored to provide assurances that staff, services and facilities are appropriately managed and standards met.
You will provide professional leadership and direction for a great team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy support workers and administrative staff.

What knowledge and experience is required?
The postholder will be an experienced pharmacist with significant post registration
experience, which will include relevant hospital pharmacy experience. They must
demonstrate a high level of professional practice and possess an appropriate post-graduate
qualification such as an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or Prescribing Sciences or experience to
an equivalent level. The postholder should possess a prescribing qualification or be willing to
work towards this.
The postholder will possess skills of leadership, negotiation, project management, people
management and have excellent organisational and communication skills.

All applicants must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) of Great Britain.
Hours of work are: 37.5 per week; part-time and flexible working arrangements may be considered.
The post holder will be required to contribute to the weekend and public holiday rotas as per service requirements.
