Consultant in Palliative Medicine

NHS Lanarkshire is looking for a Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join its existing team of Consultants, and wider multi-disciplinary team. We deliver Specialist Palliative Care to the population of Lanarkshire, including inpatient services at St Andrew’s and Kilbryde Hospices, community visits and acute patient reviews in all three of Lanarkshire’s University Hospitals. We also a run a Triage and Advice Line, open to our colleagues in primary and secondary to access palliative care advice and discuss patients that may require in person review.

The successful post holder will work within the Specialist Palliative Care service, exact duties will be agreed but may include contributing to inpatient complex symptom management and end of life care, Triage and Advice Line, community and hospital sessions, as well as out of hours work. They will also be actively involved in education and training.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals who are keen to contribute to the ongoing development of services. Specific sub-specialty clinical, educational or research interests would be welcomed for discussion.

The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis (including up to 2 non-DCC) but applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time.
