Salaried GP; Remote & Rural
Braemar Medical Practice
Braemar Health Clinic St Andrews Terrace Braemar AB35 5WR
Would you like an opportunity to practice high quality traditional family medicine in a beautiful rural setting on the edge of the Cairngorms?
I am seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and committed GP to join me in providing care to the village of Braemar. The Practice is 60 miles from secondary care, with a large temporary resident workload due to the attraction of the area for those seeking both outdoor pursuits and a relaxing holiday in Royal Deeside.
We are a small friendly team with a list size just under 700 plus the significant number of T/R's seen every week and the Practice provides a wide range of care under a GMS contract, including Minor Injury, Minor Surgery and Unscheduled Care 24/7. We currently offer 15 minute appointments and aim to see everyone the same day. We know our patients well, and very rarely do we receive complaints.
We will soon be moving into a newly refurbished NHS owned building.
Medical student teaching for Aberdeen University has been a very fulfilling part of our work for almost 24 years with consistently good feedback from our 4th year students, whose placement has recently increased from 4 to 5 weeks in the Practice.
The practice area offers excellent opportunities for leisure activities with skiing, an 18 hole golf course, fishing and hillwalking.
Although Braemar is Grampian's most remote and rural practice, we are within 60 miles of Aberdeen, Perth and Dundee with Edinburgh and Glasgow just over 100 miles away.
The Practice performed very well in the national patient survey published in August 2022, being rated 1st, 2nd or 3rd depending on which paper you read.
Work 17 - 26 weeks per year initially.
Partnership option and increased commitment possible as I would like to reduce my responsibility as part of succession planning.
Start date negotiable.
If you would like to know more and ideally to visit the Practice to see what we have to offer, please contact:
