The Role


To provide a high quality administrative service for medical and nursing staff. Exchange information with patients and staff on the admission, transfer and discharge of patients both verbally and in written format

Provide an admin & clerical service including typing, reception duties and scanning to both clinical and non-clinical staff.  This includes both hospital and community based midwifery / neonatal nursing teams within and out-with NHS Lanarkshire, medical staff and consultants.

Provide admin cover in maternity / neonatal ward areas and internal offices.

Provide support by training new and existing admin staff as well as ward staff in IT systems.

Day to day maintenance of department requirements to ensure smooth running of department.

What we'll need you to bring

  • SVQ Level 2 or equivalent with additional experience in an administration healthcare role.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems, some of which are routine and non-routine activities such as answering queries, task related problem solving acquired through experience and training.
  • Proficient in using various software packages including specialist maternity and neonatal systems such as Badger Electronic Maternity & Neonatal Records, and TrakCare.
