An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced dietitian to join the friendly and supportive adult inpatient dietetic team based at University Hospital Crosshouse. Crosshouse Hospital is located two miles from Kilmarnock town centre and is easily accessible from Glasgow.
You will work with colleagues to provide dietetic input to our surgical inpatient wards, critical care unit and to the area complex nutrition team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in dietetics within these settings. Experience of acute adult dietetics and artificial nutrition support is essential to this role. As a member of Ayrshire and Arran’s complex nutrition team you will be expected to work with patients requiring parenteral nutrition, both in the inpatient setting and at home, and with patients with intestinal failure. Knowledge and experience working with these acutely complex patients would be desirable, however support will be provided for those enthusiastic to develop their skills in these areas.
The team, comprising dietitians, dietetic assistant practitioners and dietetic support workers, work together to provide effective dietetic care to 21 in patient wards, working to national and local targets and drivers. We participate in regular peer review, structured clinical supervision and professional development sessions. The department provides training to A, B and C placement students.
You should possess an Honours degree/postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post is essential e.g. excellent interpersonal skills, excellent team working and robust prioritisation and time management skills.
Full driving license and car driver is essential.
Hours: 37.5 per week.
