Applications are welcome for a Locum Specialty Doctor in ENT within NHS Ayrshire & Arran, for a fixed period of 12 months.
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious individual to join the team in Ayrshire ENT department.
The department is based in University Hospital Crosshouse and covers the whole 388,000 Ayrshire population from that base. The advertised post is a post to help provide ENT medical care to Ayrshire patients, at University Hospital Crosshouse. Crosshouse ENT department is the Scottish National Cochlear Implant Centre and some duties will involve looking after these patients. This gives the post a unique exposure to this specialised area of ENT surgery.
NHS Ayrshire and Arran has a reputation for excellent, friendly staff who provide high quality care from University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr. Both are busy acute hospitals providing many specialist services and a broad range of emergency services, including Accident & Emergency at both sites.
University Hospital Crosshouse is a modern 535 bedded Acute General Hospital responsible for the provision of health care services in Ayrshire. There is a modern and well supported education centre and full library facilities.
We have the advantage of both main hospitals sitting on a green field sites with open views to the countryside, free parking and excellent hospital catering. The location is perfect for visiting Arran, the Scottish Highlands and Islands and Lowlands of Galloway. Water based sports golf and mountain biking are popular pastimes. We are only 40 mins by road to Glasgow and 20 mins to Prestwick Airport.
The middle grade on call is a 1:6 Rota with prospective cover.

This is a fixed term post. The successful applicant will be eligible for full registration and licensing with GMC, and have MB BS or equivalent. You will have satisfactorily completed Foundation Year 2 Competencies – for those entering through the Foundation Years.
