Structural Intervention Nurse Specialist
Band 7
37.5 hours per week
The Cardiology team at ARI are pleased to be able to recruit a Band 7 Nurse Specialist to work within our Cardiology Structural Intervention service, which includes transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). This is a dynamic service, which has enabled patients to receive minimally invasive heart valve interventions in a rapidly evolving field.
Based in the Cardiology team the successful candidate will work closely with consultant colleagues and will help support and co-ordinate the service delivered to patients who require Cardiology Structural Interventions, including TAVI. This post is new to the Cardiology Department and will be integral to all aspects of the patients journey, from referral to the multidisciplinary team, through to pre and post procedural care and will give the successful candidate the opportunity to develop and embed a service to support patients from across the North of Scotland. There will be excellent opportunities for education and support within the team and also to collaborate nationally and participate at conferences in this specialty.
The Cardiology Department in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary already delivers a wide range of nurse led specialist, Cardiology services such as Cardioversion, Chest Pain Clinics, and Myocardial Perfusion Scanning. This is a continually evolving service and there are also ongoing developmental opportunities across the service. The Cardiology Nurse Practitioners work alongside a large team of Nursing, Medical, Allied Health professionals and other specialist services to provide support to cardiology patients across NHS Grampian and tertiary support across the North of Scotland.
Applications are invited from staff that have completed an approved MSc programme in Advanced Clinical Practice or who have gained post graduate diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice. However, there is an option to appoint into a Band 6 training position under Annex 21 for individuals who are keen to develop and complete the required training within a 2 year timeframe. This post could potentially be offered as part-time or a job share opportunity for the right candidates.
