This is a great opportunity to join our dynamic, integrated dietetic department. We provide clinical dietetic services in a range of specialist services, in Acute Hospitals, Primary Care and the Community, for children and adults. We also have good links with Health Promotion.
You will be working with a multidisciplinary team of Dietitians, Psychologists, Nutritionists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Specialists, Support Workers, Secretaries and Surgeons. Working in partnership the team delivers a high quality and compassionate service to individuals living in Fife with weight related health conditions.
Programmes within the Adult Weight Management include:
• Let’s Prevent Diabetes
• Counterweight Plus
• Tier 2 - Get Moving with Counterweight
• Tier 2 – Second Nature
• Tier 3 – Specialist Weight Management
• Tier 4 – Bariatric Surgery
Caseload will be varied across a range of these clinical areas delivering patient education and support through a combination of face to face, virtual and digital programmes to individuals and groups. You will also be involved in the continual improvement and development of the service. There may be the opportunity to work within the wider Weight Management Service which includes Child Healthy Weight.
The Nutrition & Dietetic Service
This is a Fife wide service, with a leadership structure arranged around clinical teams. These are Acute, Adult Weight Management & Child Healthy Weight, Diabetes, Mental Health & Learning Disabilities, Nutritional Support, Older People, Infant Nutrition, CYP & Paediatrics. We work collaboratively with the Dietitian and Nutritionists in the Health Promotion Food & Health Teams. Fife has a Non Prescribing Ordering Model for both Oral Nutritional Supplements and Enteral Feeds. We have a range of services using dietetic led models of care and, a number of Non Medical Prescribing Dietitians within the department.
The Dietetic Service provides undergraduate and graduate Dietetic student training for B & C placements every year. All staff participate in the delivery and organisation of the programmes. New graduates to Fife will have an opportunity to participate in rotation across teams, as part of their continuing development. The Department arranges regular postgraduate training sessions and supports staff in their continuing professional development. The Service has good administration and IT support, social media and online resources.
Registered with HCPC, you will have the skills, competencies and experience appropriate for the post. Induction and training will be provided to facilitate transition into your new role.
