Highland Health and Social Care Services help people from all walks of life, as well as their families or carers. Health and Social Care in Highland provides help and assistance in many situations arising due to illness, disability, old age or poverty.
We are looking for a support worker to work in a team which delivers support to adults with learning disabilities, communication difficulties, personal care and complex needs. Post holder support the delivery of sessional gardening activities to the individuals we support.
Applicants do not require having formal horticultural training; although a working knowledge of growing plants and vegetables would be advantageous, as well as having a keen interest in gardening and a willingness to learn. Although the role is primarily based in the Isobel Rhind Centre, you may also be required to work in community based settings. You should be able to work as part of a team or under your own initiative, have excellent communication skills and confidence in your ability.
Candidates will be willing and able to undertake training to SVQ Level 3, alongside all other training required for service delivery. The Isobel Rhind Centre is open Monday – Friday, 8.45 am – 4.15pm, although successful candidates may be required to start/finish out with these times.
Successful applicants will be required to register with the PVG Scheme.
