 Agenda for Change Band 8b

Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) has been at the forefront in all areas of healthcare during the pandemic, bringing exciting challenges to the IPC Team supporting NHS Grampian. This continues as we move forward and adapt to activities required from new ways of working. A key part of the role will be supporting IPCT with work relating to the Healthcare Built Environment. This new role as Deputy Infection Prevention & Control Manager plays a key part in this progress.

In this role you will have the opportunity to develop strategic skills and broaden your sphere of influence across NHS Grampian Healthcare settings. This is a rare opportunity, therefore we are seeking strong applications from innovative, dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced NHS Managers to support the development of the IPC team and Service. Previous experience at Band 8A is essential.

You will require to have excellent planning, organisational and leadership skills with change management, clinical experience and a demonstrable knowledge of risk management principals applied in an MDT environment. You should have system-wide, political, cultural and strategic awareness with an ability to make decisions and analyse complex situations. Advanced report writing skills and commitment to evidence-based practice are essential.

The Deputy IPCM will work with the IPCM to deliver the Service and manage the NHS Grampian IPC Team workforce which includes the administration team, surveillance nurses and IPC nurses. Significant experience in NHS Human Resources policies and procedures is essential. This role will work closely with the IPC doctors and will be a visible presence within the IPC team.

This post is based at Foresterhill Campus, but there will be an expectation to travel to healthcare sites within NHS Grampian and further as required.

An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates
