Radiology Directorate

Band 6 Specialist Radiographer Core Neuroangiography– 37.5 hours

Permanent

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious radiographer to join our Interventional Neuroradiology team. While the post holder will form part of the core Interventional team, the post will provide an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to develop skills in all aspects of Neuroradiography including CT and MRI.

As a core radiographer in neurointervention you will become proficient in all aspects of Neurointerventional Radiography and assist the Radiography Team Leader in the training, supervision and development of staff and the development and smooth running of the service.

This is an exciting time to join our team. The Department of Clinical Neurosciences moved to a purpose built facility in July 2020. In addition to supporting the established neurointerventional service, this post also supports the recently introduced Mechanical Thrombectomy service. This service has a significant impact on the mortality and morbidity of patients presenting with acute stroke and you will be key to the delivery of this service.

This post provides an excellent opportunity to work with state of the art equipment.

Equipment includes, Siemens Axiom Artis Q (Bi-Plane), Canon Acquillion One Genesis CT scanner and Philips Ingenia 1.5T & 3T MRI scanners.

The department is co-joined with the paediatric imaging department, therefore, includes the potential to work in neurointervention and cross sectional imaging in both adult and paediatric settings.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in the On Call rota and provide cover for evening and weekend shifts.

Previous experience in angiography is welcomed.

A relevant post graduate qualification would be advantageous but not essential.
