A flexible individual is required to join our team of specialist nurses within the lung cancer multi-disciplinary team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as are the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.


This post offers an exciting opportunity to develop and expand your existing experience delivering a patient centred nursing service which is safe and effective. You will also be involved in service redesign and improvement and will participate in the delivery and development of education to meet the needs of patients and healthcare teams.  Candidates must be willing to undergo post graduate education at level 11. 


Applicants should be educated to degree level and be registered on Sub Part 1 of the UK NMC Register, entry code RN1/RNA and demonstrate evidence of a high level of clinical expertise and continuing professional development is essential.  Extensive Post registration experience is essential with experience in oncology, respiratory or palliative care beneficial.

Candidates who do not meet the Advanced Nurse Practitioner criteria are welcome to apply for the trainee role at Band 6 under Annexe 21 Paragraph 2(i) and will be supported to undertake required education and supervised practice to develop their competence and confidence to fulfil the duties of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner across the four pillars of practice for advanced practice.  It is an expectation that as a trainee you will successfully achieve the required qualifications as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within the first 18 to 24 months of appointment, after which time you will move to Band 7.


Hours of work are: 37.5 per week.
