Job Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 16 month fixed term post as a band 3 Macmillan Navigator for 22.5 hours, for a telephone triage project, based within NHS Grampian, funded by Macmillan Cancer Support.

Cancer patients experience a variety of complex problems over the course of their illness. Shorter hospital stays and fewer inpatient beds have created additional challenges for patients diagnosed with cancer, as they often continue complicated treatment protocols as outpatients. As a result, patients and their families often telephone for expert and timely advice and care, preventing unnecessary admission to hospital and providing family support.

This service focuses on providing a telephone triage system for patients and their families to access, to enable their calls to be signposted and answered appropriately by a team of specially trained support workers, allowing Clinical Nurse Specialists to concentrate on delivering and focusing on complex clinical needs.

We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who will fit in to the current team of four Navigators.

If you are excited about this post we would like to hear from you.
