Why work for us?
Patients are at the centre of everything we do in our daily working lives at NHS Borders ensuring they are safe, cared for efficiently, effectively by suitably experienced and qualified staff driving quality at the heart of patient care. We are a dynamic and forward thinking team with a wealth of clinical and leadership experience. We aim for an open and honest culture and believe in nurturing future stars in NHS.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a GP(s) to join our friendly Duns Medical Group based in The Knoll, Duns. We are looking to recruit 1 or 2 doctors, ideally to commence as soon as possible, although sessional commitment, days, start dates and contract conditions are flexible for the right candidate(s). We would like to invite applications from enthusiastic, self-motivated and conscientious doctors to join us. You will have the unique opportunity to develop and enhance the newly Health Board managed practice.
The practice is based within the Knoll Health Centre in Duns and serves a population of approximately 3100 patients. Located in a beautiful, rural location in the unspoilt Eastern Borders, one can enjoy coastal, countryside and city life with ease. Excellent transport links via the A1 and the East Coast railway stations of Reston (9.8miles) and Berwick Upon Tweed (15.8miles) enables easy access to the cities of Edinburgh and Newcastle.
Home visit rates are low and we have implemented eConsult which is an all in one consultation platform, which supports triage and enables GPs to manage demand.
The practice shares the building with and has access to a full complement of allied health professionals, including Treatment Room, District Nursing, Health Visitors, MSK Physio, Day Hospital, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy and Dietetics with whom we enjoy collaborative working.
All candidates must possess full GMC Registration with a licence to practice.
Informal enquiries and visits are welcome, please contact Mrs Nicola Blaikie, Practice Manager on 01361 885040 or nicola.blaikie@borders.scot.nhs.uk
**PLEASE NOTE: We cannot accept late applications so please ensure your application is submitted early***
