Band 5/6 Dietitian, Specialist Adult Rehabilitation Service

Base:  Woodend Hospital, Eday Road, Aberdeen

Hours – 1 wte (37.5hrs/week)

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, an ability to work in partnership with others, a desire to improve services to meet patient needs and an interest in nutrition in rehabilitation to come and join our dietetic team at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen.

The post is Band 6 but applications are welcomed from Band 5 Dietitians with some experience working in the NHS, looking to consolidate their skills and progress to a Band 6 post. This would form a newly established Band 5 to Band 6 Development Post with set criteria for progression. Job share or flexible working arrangements may also be considered.

The role largely involves providing inpatient and outpatient services to adults in a range of areas such a stroke, neuro rehabilitation, trauma, brain injury, orthopaedics and patients treated within the frailty pathway.

This is a great opportunity to be an integral part of the wider multidisciplinary teams, working to promote patient centred rehabilitation, with an emphasis on a goal setting approach. You will have a key role in this, on occasion taking the lead for goal setting with individual patients.

Patients requiring enteral feeding will form a large part of your caseload and as such, this posts offers an excellent opportunity to gain further experience in this area.

We have well established links with dietitians across all sectors in Grampian and work together to provide excellent CPD opportunities for all of our staff, particularly around clinical effectiveness, quality improvement, patient safety and patient centeredness. We foster a supportive working environment and encourage staff to develop and share their learning and experiences.

The post has a key role in organising, planning and evaluating undergraduate student training, taking dietetic students for their B & C placement as well as training other staff groups across the partnership.

For AHP posts within Grampian, there is a requirement to provide services flexibly to meet the needs of service users. This will include providing services over weekends and extended hours.

A relocation allowance of up to £8000 may be offered to successful candidate.
