NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

We are seeking a motivated, experienced paediatric nurse with proven leadership skills to take on the role of Senior Charge Nurse. This person will oversee the running of the haematology and oncology inpatient area (7 beds) plus the medical treatment bay (6 chair/ bed spaces) where children attend for short treatments such as biologic infusions, food challenges and blood transfusions. The post holder will have experience of administering chemotherapy or commit to completing the chemotherapy course within 2 years of being in post. The post holder will be integral to managing the smooth transfer of staff from existing staffing resources in RACH as we progress to staffing this area with its' own staffing compliment.

You will need to be flexible, adaptable and able to make appropriate nursing decisions. Previous experience of managing staff is essential. The post will entail taking the senior nurse bleep as part of a hospital wide roster so the candidate must be able to work unsocial hours usually 1 or 2 weekend day shifts per month.

RACH have formally applied to the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Centre) to work towards Magnet designation by 2025. The post holder will be expected to positively embrace this programme and lead their team towards excellence.

The inpatient beds are open 24/7 and the treatment bay is open weekdays currently Tuesday to Friday 09.00-17.00
