Annex 21 Section 2 (i) Applies
Candidates who commence on band 5 will be required to successfully complete the appropriate qualification/s or training as outlined within the Annex 21 competency framework prior to progressing to band 6.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to undertake a developmental training post to become an Epilepsy Nurse (Epilepsy and LD) based within Fife H&SCP Learning Disabilities Service to support clinical delivery and service developments. Annexe 21 (Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions) will apply until successful completion of the training programme. Initially at band 5 level, there will be a requirement to undertake and achieve a Post graduate qualification in epilepsy care in order to attain the band 6 level of the post.
You should have significant experience in Learning Disabilities practice. You should be able to demonstrate well established clinical skills, knowledge and experience, and of working with adults across the age span presenting with learning disabilities, and complex needs.
You are required to be a Learning Disabilities Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and also be able to demonstrate continuing professional development with evidence of post registration qualification.
As an enthusiastic Learning Disabilities Nurse you will join this well established and developing service designed to meet the treatment, clinical management and holistic needs of this population with epilepsy and learning disabilities / complex needs.
You will have experience and evidence of team working, high-level communication skills, critical analysis /problem solving capabilities and continuing personal and professional development. You will have an assigned workload and day to day responsibility for assessment, care planning, medical treatment management and evaluation of patient care. The NHS Fife LD Epilepsy service is committed to multi-disciplinary/ partnership working across all health care and H&SCP services. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. You will receive a comprehensive induction package and supportive educational development.
