Substantive, Full Time Post – 37.5 hours per week
Can be offered as a development post
Band 6 - Salary Range £37,831 - £46,100 per annum or
Band 5 (Annex 20 during development), Salary Range £30,229 - £37,664 per annum plus
Distant Island Allowance of £2,256 per annum
A Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 is also available
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Podiatrist (Band 6 post) to join our small team providing podiatric interventions to the population of Shetland.
Alternatively, this post (Band 5 post) would be an exciting opportunity for new graduates / less experienced Podiatrist wishing to increase and develop the full range of clinical skills in all specialities.
Appointment at Band 5 will be for an initial period of supervision and mentorship, with progression to Band 6 under Annex 20, and following this period will have progressed to working autonomously.
The post is based at Lerwick health centre, with other clinics held at the Gilbert Bain hospital, outlying health centres, domiciliary visits and care homes.
As a Specialist Podiatrist you will work towards coordinating, developing and leading the Podiatry nail surgery service as well as providing high quality care in general podiatry.
The post holder will also have the opportunity to work in specialist clinics, namely MSK, diabetes and wound care.
The post holder will propose and implement policy and service developments, be the source of information, advice and education to both the podiatry team and other health and social care staff.
There are excellent personal development opportunities and the post holder will be encouraged and supported in CPD and service improvement activities.
