Senior Information Analyst – Clinical Outcomes
National Headquarters, Edinburgh
£37,831- £46,100 per annum (pro rata)
37.5 hours per week
Permanent (fixed term or secondment considered)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Business Intelligence team based in National Headquarters.
The BI team is responsible for all routine and ad hoc performance reporting. This includes production of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports covering all aspects of performance such as operational, clinical, PTS and sickness absence. These routine reports are produced for SAS Executive, Board, Senior Managers and the Scottish Government. Provision of this analysis applies to the whole system, from 999 calls to outcomes linked with other areas of healthcare.
We are looking for a Senior Information Analyst to join our Clinical Outcomes team. This post will be responsible for providing high quality data analysis and intelligence to a range of clinical areas to improve service delivery. Specific clinical areas include the Integrated Clinical Hub and Urgent Care Pathways among others.
By liaising closely with a wide range of stake holders such as Executive Team Members, Regional Directors, Ambulance Control Centre staff, and the Scottish Government, this post will develop new ways of interrogating existing datasets to provide valuable insights into key workstreams. Innovation and development will be key to providing important intelligence to operational colleagues.
This is a varied role and the postholder will need to be flexible and able to cope with periods of pressure and competing demands. Effective communication with analytical and non-analytical colleagues, along with effective project scoping skills and a willingness to support and collaborate with others are key. Consistent attention to detail and good organisational skills are essential.
The postholder will need to be highly numerate and have experience of analytical techniques and working with complex datasets. Full training in the source database systems will be given, and once trained this post will be expected to independently interrogate data for quality and completeness, complete analysis using the appropriate tools, and visualise the results in an appropriate way for the intended audience. Experience or knowledge of using the following software would be desirable:
- Business Objects
- SQL
- R/R Studio
- Data Visualisation tools such as Power BI
Although this post is based within NHQ, the location is flexible and will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate. This could include home working, office working, or a hybrid of the two.
