What you will do:
You will provide enhanced nursing and supports and contributes to the high quality nursing service for babies, children, young people and their families. The post holder assists the Senior Charge Nurse, Paediatric Staff Nurses, Nursery Nurses and Nursing Assistants.
The role provides support for parents, carers and families who are identified by the Senior Charge Nurse or the Team Leader. You will follow the child’s plan of care using agreed service pathways and protocols, reporting progress to the Senior Charge Nurse or the Team Leader.
You will demonstrates an enhanced level of care, reflecting their additional skills and knowledge relating to children with complex health needs, disabilities, life limiting conditions and palliative care needs
You will be expected to deliver care with minimal supervision in all children’s nursing settings including community and hospital.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Knowledge of a range of clinical conditions that affect children’s health, wellbeing
Knowledge of health and social care services for children and families
Experience of working with children and families in the hospital and community
Experience of working with children who have complex medical needs
Evidence of continuing professional development
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised
Ability to work as part of a team including as part of a multi disciplinary team
IT skills

Driving Licence
