National Services Division (NSD) plans, commissions and performance manages high quality services, programmes and networks for NHS Scotland. National Strategic Network Teams within NSD provide consistent, high quality managerial and strategic support to ensure networks achieve aims and objectives agreed through national commitments supported by Scottish Government. The Scottish Cancer Network (SCN) is a dedicated national resource to support and facilitate a ‘Once for Scotland’ approach to cancer services which will assist in enabling equitable access to care and treatment across Scotland. Its main aims are to:
- Develop and operate a system for the production, review, and hosting of National Clinical Management Pathways
- Oversee and drive improvement of existing National Managed Clinical Networks and adopt similar national network approaches for other tumour sites that may benefit
The Post:
The Project Support Officer will use planning and project management skills to provide project and programme support to the Scottish Cancer Network. Working with the Network Programme Managers, Project Manager, Network Clinical Leads and relevant governance groups the role will be key for supporting several assigned national networks at every stage of their journey from establishing and mainstreaming any new networks, to ongoing support, performance management and improvement initiatives.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a pro-active and dynamic administrator with a passion for continuous improvement. You will bring experience of working across boundaries, with a wider range of stakeholders, providing support services of the highest quality. This will include organising meetings and events, developing communications, distributing papers and presentations and developing processes to monitor progress against workplans. You must also be able to gather and interpret data to help to evidence progress and inform improvement initiatives.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow with an expectation for some potential travel for national meetings. We will consider flexible working arrangements so do contact us if you would like to discuss personal circumstances.
Currently hybrid working
The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
