An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or trainee ANP to join the established, friendly and forward thinking Argyll and Bute Child Health Neurodevelopmental team. The Advanced ADHD nurse practitioner, who is an independent prescriber, will work within the community paediatrics team in a lead role to provide specialist clinical assessment and intervention within the Neurodevelopmental ADHD service to children, young people and their families. This will include writing prescriptions for controlled drugs and other medications where appropriate.
There are 2 posts available, one based within Helensburgh and the other within Mid Argyll, base is negotiable. This is an exciting time in the development of our Neurodevelopmental team, with the ANP role supporting this development.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is flexible, hardworking and professional.
The post holder will utilise their advanced clinical skills and knowledge incorporating a high level of critical thinking and clinical judgement skills. This will involve working autonomously with high level of decision making and problem solving.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are required. You must have the ability to work as part of a team as well as to work independently.

You will be an enthusiastic and professional with evidence of working as an ANP.
Essential Qualifications:
- It is essential that you are a Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
- Applicants should have or be working towards appropriate Masters level qualification in Advanced Practice which provides evidence of competence in clinical assessment, clinical reason, decision and diagnostics, anatomy and physiology and registered non-medical prescriber.
- The successful candidate should preferably be a suitably qualified ANP with experience in Neurodevelopment OR an experienced Registered Nurse who possesses the commitment and willingness to undertake the ANP training pathway (Annexe 21) is essential. Annexe 21 will apply until successful completion of the ANP training programme.
