The Role
NHS Lanarkshire is currently delivering on an ambitious plan to implement new and changed ways of working to improve patient flow within Lanarkshire. This work, that we have called Operation FLOW, spans the full patient pathway, from avoiding hospital admission through discharge and beyond. To ensure that we can establish and sustain these improvements for patients we are investing significantly in our workforce and expanding new and existing roles.
The Capacity and Flow Managers will work as part of a team (three per site) to provide seven-day extended cover to focus on the operational management and decision making for flow and capacity in each of the hospital sites within NHS Lanarkshire. This role is integral to the safe and effective working of the hospital and will work with clinical and operational teams across all specialties. The post holder(s) have responsibility for ensuring that processes are in place for the management of safe patient flow, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes to improve flow and capacity and improve standards of care.

What we'll need you to bring
- Educated to degree level with a willingness to undertake a Masters degree, if not already in procession of this.
- Demonstrable experience at a senior level in health care.
- Experience in a management role – proven leadership skills and experience are essential
- A positive attitude to flexible working to meet the contingencies of the department
- Understand the patient workflow of all services
It would be great if you also have
- Registration with a relevant clinical professional body (NMC/HCPC/GPC)
- Evidence of advanced improvement methodology training and application

Location and Working Pattern
We have vacancies across our 3 Acute Sites (University Hospitals Wishaw, Monklands and Hairmyres).
The working pattern for this role is likely to be a rotational shift pattern covering long days 7 days per week. The role will be shared across multiple post holders to provide consistent 7 day cover.
The post holder(s) will be expected to participate in the Acute Site On-call rota.
