Job Advert
Braemar is a world-renowned community at the heart of the Cairngorms and at the head of Royal Deeside. It is less than 90 minutes’ drive to Aberdeen, and with some of Scotland's best hill country for walking, climbing and skiing on its doorstep.
It has a population of around 700 who have been fortunate to have the same GP for the last 30 years providing 24-hour care. However, this is to change in December of this year and plans are being made to integrate Braemar into the Grampian Out Of Hours Service. This creates an opportunity to widen the pool of potential GPs to continue a service for Braemar.
We are therefore looking for GPs who would like to be part of developing the in-hours (0800-1800) service for the future based on strong principles of continuity and quality of care. This will clearly be a time of transition for the community but for the right individuals there is an opportunity to be part of creating a sustainable quality practice, while also allowing time to enjoy a beautiful part of the world.
We are open to discussion around innovative employment contracts, which contribute to sustainability for the future.
Depending on eligibility, Golden Hello and relocation payments are available.
Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post). For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
This is a rare opportunity to be involved in a unique setting with a supportive community, so if you are interested, please contact: gram.aberdeenshireprimarycare@nhs.scot
