An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Senior Staff Nurse within the Emergency Care Unit at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
The Emergency Care Unit comprises of a Paediatric Emergency Department and an Assessment Unit. The Emergency Care Unit is a very busy unit throughout the year and has a unique set of challenges; the post holder must be able to work in an unpredictable area, be able to work a mix of day and nightshift. The post holder will be responsible for taking a lead role in clinical care and assist in managing a large team of staff dedicated to the care of acutely unwell children. The post holder will also have a responsibility to carry out HDU transfers as well as the hospital bleep on nightshift, overseeing the wards at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, ensuring the departments safely staffed and managed to help maintain patient safety.
It is essential that applicants for this job have considerable experience nursing in Paediatric Emergency Care and have experience supervising or managing staff in a clinical environment.
