The Role

To directly provide an application support service to new and existing users of eHealth based systems within NHS Lanarkshire, predominantly within the services specified in the Systems section below.

The work of the post holder will be directed by the senior post holders and direct line manager of the team.

The post holder will be a competent user of the supported eHealth systems in use with the services below and will therefore be in a position to support users in these systems once the users have received formal classroom based training and appropriate facilitation.

To perform routine clerical activities and administration tasks in order to assist the senior post holders and direct line manager of the team with routine tasks such as setting up new user accounts etc.

What we'll need you to bring

  • Educated to HNC level in an IT related subject.
  • At least 2 years’ experience of working in a clinical or IT support environment.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and to be able to construct good working relationships with other team members.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with clinical staff and immediate colleagues.
  • Attainment of a basic level of computer literacy i.e. regular user of software such as Microsoft Office Word, E-Mail, electronic diary etc.
  • The post holder must be able to drive and hold a current UK driving license.

It would be great if you also have

  • Evidence of continuous professional development e.g. study days, courses, postgraduate qualifications, Industry qualifications.

  • 2 years successful experience in an IT technical support role within an IT department

  • Excellent customer service orientation

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external technical and non technical colleagues

  • Proven workload planning skills and ability to successfully handle multiple work tasks

  • ​​​​​​​Highly self motivated and self directed
