Based within Argyll & Bute HSCP, this exciting role of IT Support Officer is responsible for the provision of IT support within Dental Services throughout the HSCP. On occasions the postholder is called upon to supplement resources in other localities within the Argyll & Bute HSCP. The post holder will be key role in delivering the HSCP's digital trasnformation programme over the next 2 -3 years.
The eHealth IT service in this locality comprises several hundred PCs mainly running Microsoft Windows WIN10 with associated user authentication, file & print and application support servers running Microsoft Windows 2012\2016\2019 Server.
Each site has a local area network connecting to the NHS wide area network either via a locally managed firewall or routers managed under contract.
Candidates should be educated to degree/HND or equivalent level and have at least two years experience in a similar role.
You will be highly proficient in the following areas. Hyper-V, Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, GPO, MS 365, SCCM, and WIN10 desktop environments is essential. Experience of current Microsoft Office applications and their delivery/support is also required.
A thorough understanding of networking topology, and good customer facing skills is important.
Excellent communication skills are essential both in dealing with demanding users and in advising users of all levels in terms of use of IT services or in meeting new requirements.
A clean UK driving license is required as a considerable amount of travelling around the Argyll & Bute HSCP is necessary to carry out the duties associated with this post although use of pool cars is frequently possible.
