Job Advert
The NHS Grampian Wheelchair Service is based in Aberdeen and looks after the wheelchair and specialist seating needs of around 9000 wheelchair users in NHS Grampian, Orkney and Shetland. We have a vacancy for a Band 7 AHP or Clinical Scientist to conduct clinical patient assessments; analyse their mobility and postural needs; specify and fit technical solutions to mobility and seating problems and to manage the ongoing care of an individual caseload. The post is primarily based at Woodend Hospital in Aberdeen but will involve attending clinics in the Orkney and Shetland Islands as well as visiting patients in their home or hospital settings across the Grampian area.
We are a friendly and supportive service that also includes technical and administration staff. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team comprising Clinical Scientists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Support Workers, and will be responsible to the Service Lead.
Candidates should be HCPC registered in an appropriate professional discipline (or eligible for registration) and will have had experience of working at a senior level in a specialist clinical role within a Wheelchair or Rehabilitation setting. There are many opportunities to be involved in service development as well as developing your own working practices. An enthusiastic attitude and commitment to delivering high standards of care is required of a successful candidate, and you are expected to work autonomously to HCPC standards of practice, whilst also being an excellent team player.
The region offers fantastic opportunities for outdoor leisure activities including coastal and mountain based pursuits.
